Linda Erfle produces works of representational art through
the mediums of transparent watercolor and/or gouache. She finds inspiration
for her paintings everywhere, from botanical subjects, to deteriorating
objects, people and her favorite, the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Since completing numerous college Art classes at San Jose
State University and Cosumnes River College, Linda has gone on to study
with Anita Wolff, Jill Figler, Ken Potter, Dale Laitinen, Jan Kunz, Judi Betts, Cheng-Khee Chee and Jane Hofstetter.
The Highlight Gallery in Mendocino, the
Davis Artery, Flowers of Main in Placerville and seasonally, the Kit Carson Gallery
at Silver Lake display Linda’s paintings.
Linda’s watercolor work has been published in; The
Best of Flower Painting, by Northlight Publications, Copyright
1997, International Artists Magazine,
issue #24-April/May 2002, 100 Ways to Paint Still
Life & Florals, 2005, By International Artists . A number of
her paintings are included in A Painters Guide to Design and
Composition by Margot Schulzke, published by Northlight in 2006 and
the magazine Watercolor (an American Artist publication),
has featured Linda in an article for Winter 2007.
Now a signature member of the National Watercolor
Society, Linda has been honored with an award for the 86th
annual, 2006 exhibition. Her painting, “Fresnos” will be
included in the 2008 American Watercolor Society’s 141st
Exhibition in New York City.

The
instruction for this watercolor workshop will be geared toward intermediate
watercolorists. We will be using the wet-in-wet (or as I prefer
damp-in-damp) technique. The four and a half days will consist of mainly
indoor and some outdoor painting along with demonstrations and
critiques. Our painting subjects will be the landscape, both panoramic and
up-close and a day or two of painting the still life/floral.
The workshop hours will be 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday -
Thursday with one hour break for lunch and Friday 9:30 am to 12:00 noon.
There will be a Sunday evening reception for participants in preparation
for the workshop from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. List of materials and tools to
bring for the workshop is available upon sign up.
Cost $400 per person. There is a 10% discount for “Early
Birds”. Check Participants Info for details. Hurry
up! Space is limited to 10 participants. There is a minimum of 6
participants for the workshop to take place. If the minimum is not met, the
workshop may be cancelled.
