About Kit Carson Lodge and Silver Lake

For nearly 100 years, guests have enjoyed the rustic simplicity that is Kit Carson Lodge. We are proud that families have been coming to the lodge for as many as 5 generations! Located on the shores of Silver Lake, high in the Sierra range, this historic lodge is a destination resort of housekeeping cabins and hotel rooms. We welcome you to stay and explore the wonderful hiking, boating, fishing and relaxation that the area provides. All accommodations are built of cedar with knotty pine interiors and include private baths. Our hotel units all have lake-view decks to enjoy the outdoors among the towering pines. The cabins sleep from two to eight persons and all have outdoor decks. The resort includes a general store, art gallery, and full-service restaurant, that offers boat, kayak, canoe, peddle boat and stand-up paddleboard rentals. The lodge is a summer resort and is open this season from June 5, 2020 - October 6, 2020. The lodge also has a forest chapel complete with a spectacular view of Thunder Mountain for that very special destination wedding.

Located in the Carson Pass area, there is a multitude of hiking trails for every level of hiker. Many trails lead to pristine Alpine lakes and the trails are often strewn with wildflowers. The angler can fish for a variety of fish in beautiful Silver Lake. We look forward to your visit and invite you to email or call us with any questions you may have. Art Gallery

The Silver Lake Art Gallery features artists that speak to the best of what the Sierra represents. Come in and view a selection of original artwork. A variety of different artists' media is displayed for sale from carved native birds, drawings, and photographs by local artists to original watercolors or oil paintings. We have something for every taste and budget.

General Store

For the 2020 season, we have made changes to the store! - This year you will find work-out wear, skin care and CBD products. Also, we have new lines of t-shirts, hoodies, and clothing for the whole family. We now stock pharmacy items of every type, and even things for your beloved dog! We still carry a huge assortment of ice-cream as well. We have food, fishing supplies, firewood and of course beer, wine, soft drinks and ice. If you are passing by Kit Carson Lodge on a hike or bike ride, make sure to stop by and refresh at the general store before you continue on your way.
